Saudi royal shares new images of 'Sleeping Prince' battling 17-year coma

princess Rima bint Talal posted two new photos of Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal, known as 'The Sleeping Prince', as his 17-year-long coma

The princess, who is the aunt of , captioned the picture ‘"May my Lord protect you all".

The image showed male visitors surrounding the prince.

The Princess’s post however, did not provide new information regarding his health.Several Twitter users replied to Princess Rima's tweet which was posted on Monday, sending her good wishes.

Her update comes after a previous post last month, which featured a similar picture and caption.

fell into a coma in 2005 following a car accident, and has been on a ventilator since. He suffered a brain haemorrhage during the accident, which happened while he was studying at a military college in London.

Since then, he has been known as 'The Sleeping Prince'. He is also the nephewof .

His father, Prince Khaled bin Talal insists on keeping his son on the ventilator, and monitors his condition in the hope that he will one day wake up.

In a video shared online Prince Al-Waleed was once able to after another aunt, Noura bint Talal bin Abdulaziz, spoke to him.

The clip went viral, garnering almost 200,000 views around the time of its publication.

In 2019, the Prince moved his head both left and right in another video clip shared by his aunt, who regularly posts updates.
