'Radical Jews' assault Armenian Patriarchate in occupied East Jerusalem
Two individuals reportedly violated a Christian site in the Armenian quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem on Monday night. The act, which was caught on camera and circulated online, showed one man approaching the gate of the Armenian Patriarchate and then kicking it open. At the same time, another man spat at it before both left. A moment later, a man, apparently a guard, emerged from the Patriarchate to inspect the incident.Ìý
Attacks against Christian properties and harassment of Christian clergy are becoming all too common in occupied East Jerusalem.Ìý
Wadie Abu Nassar, the Coordinator of the Forum of Holy Land Christians, said Monday night's incident against the Armenian Patriarchate was carried out by "radical Jews."Ìý

In January, two Jewish settlers vandalised a Christian cemetery near Jaffa Gate outside the Old City of Jerusalem. Then in February, A Jewish-American tourist destroyed a statue at a Catholic Church inside the Old City near Bab al-Asbat (Lion's Gate).
Since the beginning of 2023, several Christian sites have been vandalised by extreme Jewish nationalists.Ìý
Last month the Patriarchate of Jerusalem of the Greek Orthodox Church issued a call for international protection after worshipers were attacked by suspected Jewish fundamentalists inside the Church of the Tomb of the Virgin Mary.Ìý
"...terrorist attacks, by radical Israeli groups, targeting churches, cemeteries, and Christian properties, in addition to physical and verbal abuse against Christian clergy, have become almost a daily occurrence...," the Patriarchate of Jerusalem said in a statement.
