Thousands attend Jenin funeral of Palestinian schoolgirl who died nine days after Israel troops shot her
An 18-year-old Palestinian schoolgirl died late onÌýMondayÌýfrom injuries she received when Israeli troops shot her 9Ìýdays ago in theÌý city of .
The Palestinian health ministry issued a statement saying that Hanan Mahmoud Khadour was shot in the stomach as she travelled to her secondary school on 9 April, whileÌýforces had been attacking Jenin.
The young woman was then transferred to hospital, official Palestinian news agencyÌýWafa reported.
Mourning Khadour's loss, Palestinians on Tuesday carried her body through Jenin to her village, Faqqua,Ìýaround 11 kilometres to the city's east where she was buried,Ìý°®Âþµº'sÌýArabic-language service reported.
AroundÌý4,000 people attendedÌýthe funeral, which took place in the morning.
Israel has made repeated raids on Jenin over the past few weeks, following attacks in Israel that killed a total of 14 people.
