At least 13 Palestinians were arrested Thursday evening by Israeli forces at checkpoints at the occupied and the besieged , according to local media.

Quoting local security sources, the Palestinian news agency WAFA said Israeli police detained at least 10 Palestinian workers at the Jalamah and Barta crossings in the northern West Bank, located north and west of  the city of Jenin, which is frequently the target of deadly Israeli raids.

They were detained for reportedly lacking entry permits into Israel.

Also, a resident of the Jenin refugee camp was arrested when Israeli soldiers stormed a bakery in the village of Jaba, while another man from the Tayasir village was arrested, both in the West Bank.

A thirteenth man was detained at the Beit Hanoun crossing at the northern frontier of the Gaza Strip.

It was not clear why the other arrests were made.

Thursday’s new arrests came a day after Israeli forces abducted a Palestinian and injured another in Jenin as they entered the town in search of a wanted man.

The wounded individual was hospitalised.

, with the Israeli army making near-daily deadly raids on Palestinian cities.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed, wounded, or detained.

Gaza was also bombed by Israel earlier this year, with dozens of Palestinian civilians being killed.

In November, Israel elected the in its history, with politicians known for incendiary hate-speech against Palestinians expected to take positions in a cabinet led by Benjamin Netanyahu.
