Israel forces kill two Palestinians near West Bank settlement
Israeli forces killed two Palestinians in armed fighting on Tuesday evening near Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
Sources said the incident took place close to the illegal Elon Moreh settlement, °®Âþµº's Arabic sister site Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported.
The Palestinian health ministry said Saud Abdullah Titi and Mohammed Ghazi Abu Dharaa were killed by Israeli army gunfire in Deir Al-Hatab, the village on whose land the settlement is located.
Two Palestinians were killed, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported, citing Israel's military as saying that four Palestinian fighters opened fire on Elon Moreh.
Israeli forces nearby then shot at the Palestinians, according to the ±á²¹²¹°ù±ð³Ù³úÌýreport. They collected the bodies of the two deceased. The other fighters retreated – one of them apparently wounded.
Palestinian ambulances were prevented from arriving on the scene.
It follows a raid by Israeli forces on theÌýJenin refugee campÌýon Tuesday morning, which saw them detain a number of young men and then withdraw.
Around 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers so far in 2023.
Israel has intensified its raids in the West Bank in recent months, focusing particularly on the cities of Nablus and Jenin.
