Israel has destroyed at least 752 residential buildings since launching its "illegal aggression" against the coastal enclave six days ago, saidÌýSalama Maarouf, the head of the Hamas-run government office, in a press statement sent toÌý°®Âþµº.Ìý
Maarouf noted official figures have documented that Israeli airstrikes destroyed "at least 752 residential buildings, with 2,835 units completely demolished and 32,000 units seriously damaged."
"1,791 residential units are uninhabitable," he added, noting that "42 government headquarters and dozens of public facilities and institutions were also destroyed."
Moreover, he explained, an estimated 89 schools were attacked by the Israeli aircraft, nine of which have become no longer operational. Eleven mosques were utterly destroyed, while seven ancient mosques and churches were partially damaged.Ìý
"Gaza Strip has entered a dangerous precipice in terms of the humanitarian reality, which is witnessing a significant deterioration in all services and the infrastructure for people to live after the complete cessation of electricity and water supplies," he stressed.Ìý
Maarouf called on the international community to immediately intervene to stop "the aggression and Israel's massacres and to put an end to the deteriorating humanitarian catastrophe that the Gaza Strip and the civilians inside it are experiencing."
