Three Syrians among dead in Turkey textile factory fire
Four migrant workers died after a fire broke out a textile factory in the major Turkish city of on Friday afternoon.
Three of the victims were , while the nationality of the fourth victim was not yet confirmed, Syrian-owned Orient TV .
The three Syrian men were by the Euphrates Post as Jasim Naif Mohammed al-Wakaa, Aadi Wahid al-Wudwid and Majid Mohammed al-Saidi. All three men were from governorate in eastern Syria, other local media outlets .
The four victims had locked themselves in a toilet to escape the fire but died from smoke inhalation, the Istanbul governorship Friday night.
The governorship said it had opened an investigation into the blaze.
"A criminal complaint has been filed against the owner of the workplace to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor," their statement read.
The four-storey factory is located in Istanbul's Gungoren district, a hub for many industries including textiles.
