°Õ³ó±ðÌý Red Crescent called on Tuesday for Iraqis to collect theÌýretrieved remains ofÌýrelatives killed in the of the 1980s.

The remains of some 629 IraqisÌýwho went missingÌýduring the eight-year warÌýawait collection, the Red Crescent Society .

In coordination with the Iraqi defence ministry, the NGO published the names of the victims whose remains had beenÌýidentified.

It asked relatives to collect their remains from theÌýAl-Hassan Al-Basri cemetery in Al-Zubair in the southern province of Basra.

The Red Crescent did not say when and whereÌýthe remains were discovered.

The society often receives requests from citizens to look for relatives that went missing during the war, which lasted from 1980-1988.

An estimated one million people from both sides were killed.
