Pope could visit Lebanon this year if conditions permit: Vatican envoy
The Pope could possibly visit this year if conditions are right for such a trip, a Vatican official is reported to have said Thursday.
"The possibility of a visit is under study, and it will take place as soon as conditions are right, perhaps during the year," , according to Vatican News.
Gallagher is the Secretary for Relations with States at the Vatican, and was in Lebanon on an official visit between 31 January and 4 February.
He stated during his visit that Pope Francis would like to visit Lebanon soon.

Pope Francis has spoken of his desire to visit Lebanon on numerous occasions. about the situation in the country, which is reeling under its worst-ever financial and economic crisis.
The Vatican is particularly worried about the taking place from the small nation, which has the largest percentage of Christians than any other country in the region.
Two popes have visited Lebanon so far – John Paul II in 1997, and in 2012.
