Palestinian Authority demands investigation into Israel's Nablus assassinations

The Palestinian cabinet and foreign ministry have demanded an international investigation after IsraeliÌýshot dead three PalestiniansÌýin theÌý city of Nablus.

Palestinian ministers on Tuesday demanded an international investigation into the "heinous crime" andÌýappealed to the UN to condemn Israel for the killings, according to the Palestinian Authority's news agency Wafa.

An Israeli special forces unit on Tuesday Palestinians in the Al-Makhfieh neighbourhood of Nablus. They were later identified as Ashraf Mubaslat, Adham Mabrouka, and Mohammad Dakhil.

Israeli police claimed the men were "armed terrorists" who wereÌýkilled during clashes with officers in the occupied West Bank city. Palestinians have decried the killings as assassinations, sparking protests in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian foreign ministry released a statement lambasting the killings, saying the Israeli government and Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, are "fully and directly responsible for this crime".

The ministry urged the international community to "end itsÌýsilence" towardsÌýIsraeli actions in the occupied West Bank.

The ministry also called on the UN and the International Criminal Court (ICC) to hold Israel to account for the killings.
