Egyptian police shot and killed a man who threw at a police car on Saturday in the country's central governorate.
Video captured by an eyewitness shows the man throwing the projectiles at a police vehicle outside the Al-Munira Al-Gharbia police station, before being shot by .
Police said in a statement that the man attempted to attack officers with a weapon as they tried to put out the fire, according to Al Jazeera.
"Officers fired warning shots, but he did not comply, prompting them to shoot and wound him in the head, right thigh, and right side of the abdomen, causing his death," the statement said.
The assailant was identified by police as 37-year-old Ahmed Muhammad Muhyi Ibrahim al-Sayed.
Police added that a a ration card and a total of nine Molotov cocktails were found in his possession. They said they managed to extinguish the fire caused by the attack and are investigating
