The Israeli artillery targeted on Wednesday a military monitoring site reportedly belonging to the Gaza-run Islamic Hamas movement in the eastern fence of Khan Younis city in the south of the besieged coastal enclave.

In a press statement sent to °®Âþµº, the Israeli army claimed that the attack came in response to the bombing of an Israeli military vehicle stationed in the separating fence between the Gaza Strip and the Israeli territories.

"There were reports that an explosive device was detonated near a military force at the Gaza Strip border that was carrying out military activity west of the security fence," the Israeli army claimed.Ìý
