A female singer in Iran has been summoned to appear in court after performing solo in public, according to media reports.

A singer who shared a video of herself performing solo in the streets of a historic village in central Iran was summoned to court, Fars news agency reported.
Negar Moazzam posted a video of her rendition on her Instagram page last week, where she has over 180,000 followers.
The video, which has since been taken down, showed Moazzam dressed in traditional costume singing an old Iranian pop song to a small group of tourists in Abyaneh village. Her performance was cut short by a local Cultural Heritage Organisation staffer.
An investigation into "a woman singing solo" was soon opened, the chief prosecutor of Isfahan Province, Ali Esfahani, told Tasnim news agency.
While there is no law in Iran to ban women from singing in public, authorities have previously punished male singers for singing with females in the past.
Female solo artists are not broadcast on television or on the radio in Iran.
