Turkey's Erdogan wins presidential election after runoff: state media
President Tayyip Erdogan has won another five-year term in office after receiving 52.87% of votes in the presidential election runoff, according to unofficial results from the state-run Anadolu Agency.
With 97 percent of ballot boxes opened in the run-off, Erdogan received 52.1 percent of the vote, and challenger Kemal Kilicdaroglu received 47.9 percent.
According to the state-run Anadolu Agency, the voter turnout was 85.24 percent.
Qatar's emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani congratulated Erdogan on his win in a statement shared on his official Twitter page.
He wished Erdogan success in the new term, hoping he "achieves in it what the brother Turkish people aspire for in progress and prosperity” and for the "strong relations between our two countries to further develop and grow".
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also congratulated Erdogan “on his unquestionable election victory!”

Polling stations across Turkey closed their doors on Sunday evening, and the vote-counting process began in the decisive round of the presidential runoff.
Turkey witnessed the second round of the presidential election for the first time in its modern history, following the failure of the candidates to obtain a majority of over 50 percent in the first round, which took place on 14 May.
