Former Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali has died in Saudi Arabia following health problems, aged 83, according to media.
Ben Ali was hospitalised in Jeddah due to a "health crisis".
He had said to have been suffering from cancer.
Ben Ali was toppled in January 2011 following popular protests in Tunisia. His overthrow paved the way for democracy in the country.
Tunisian courts had condemned Ben Ali in absentia to several prison sentences, including life terms, for abuse of power, graft and involuntary homicide.
