American right-wing commentator and one-time Trump supporter Ann Coulter has praised Israel's massacre of dozens of unarmed Palestinians on Monday, suggesting the US should do the same with those attempting to cross its borders.
Responding on Twitter to a New York Times headline on the clashes in Gaza, which said "Israel responded with rifle fire to a mass attempt by Palestinians to cross a border fence, killing at least 28", Coulter asked: "Can we do that?"
Coulter was probably refering to so-called illegal immigration to the US, mostly from Mexico across the southern border.
On Monday, Israeli forces shot dead 60 Palestinians protesting along the Gaza border against the US embassy opening in Jerusalem, in the bloodiest day in the besieged territory for years.
Anne Coulter is a controversial figure in the US who has made many racist statements in the past.
In 2005, she wrote: "I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised spectator sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East and sending liberals to Guantanamo."
In March last year, she suggested Middle East migrants and refugees cannot stop themselves from raping Western women, citing this as the reason they must be barred from entering the US.
Appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Coulter railed against allowing more refugees to enter the United States from Middle Eastern nations identified by the Trump administration's so-called Muslim ban, saying they are potentially dangerous.
The migrants can't "stop themselves from raping masses of women", Coulter said.
This was in reference to a story in German media about the mass assault of women in Frankfurt by refugees.

Most of the 60 unarmed Gazans killed during the protests were shot dead by Israeli snipers on Monday, Gaza's health ministry said.
The death toll included a baby who died from tear gas inhalation, along with eight children under the age of 16
On the same day, the US transferred its Israel embassy from Tel Aviv to the disputed city of Jerusalem in a move that infuriated the Palestinians and was widely condemned.Anne Coulter is a controversial figure in the US who has made many racist statements in the past.
