Syrians say they 'feel peace,' 'without fear' after fall of Assad

Damascus residents voiced optimism for Syria's future following what one called a "blessed revolution", days after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime. Banks and shops have started to reopen in Damascus, just three days after rebel groups successfully toppled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a surprise offensive, with the new caretaker Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Bashir, working with officials from the Assad regime to bring more public services.
