The Saudi airstrikes on Yemen's capital Sanaa and Hodeida come after the Houthi rebels' attack on an oil facility in the city of Jeddah on Friday.
The attack near the Formula One venue, as well as a wave of other assaults, comes ahead of the seventh anniversary of a Saudi-led coalition's military intervention against the rebels in Yemen, a country in the grip of a major humanitarian crisis.
An Associated Press photojournalist covering practice laps at the Formula One track in Jeddah saw the smoke rising in the distance to the east. As the flames rose, the tops of the tanks of the bulk plant were clearly visible some 11.5 kms away.
Yemen's Houthi rebels, who have been fighting a Saudi-led coalition for seven years, said they would welcome talks with the coalition if they took place in a neutral country.
The Houthis said they would not attend talks in Riyadh, saying Saudi Arabia cannot be a mediator or host since it's a party in the war. The Houthis say they would instead be open to talks in a 'neutral country.'
Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will undergo surgery on Sunday in an underground hospital facility.
