A video showing a brawl between Lebanese soldiers from the Presidential Guard and a traffic policeman has gone viral on Lebanese social media.

Many retweeted the video or shared it on Facebook using between law enforcement authorities.

Lebanese officials travelling in VIP convoys, soldiers and even police officers are known to flout traffic laws.

On social media, some pages have sprung up tracking traffic and road safety violations by security officers.

A new traffic law came into force last year, imposing tough new fines.

However, the law remains poorly enforced, especially outside the capital.

Many of Lebanon's roads are also badly maintained or designed with little regard to safety.

Some groups like the YASA NGO have been established to promote road safety awareness and lobby the government to do more in this area.
