US's Sullivan reaffirms Biden's commitment to 'help Saudi Arabia defend its territory'
US national security adviserÌý reaffirmed President commitment to "help Saudi Arabia defend its territory" during a meeting with Saudi vice defence ministerÌý bin Abdulaziz Al SaudÌýon Tuesday, the White House said.
During the meeting Sullivan also underscored the longstanding partnership between the two nations, the White House said in a written statement.
"Mr Sullivan reaffirmed President Biden's commitment to help Saudi Arabia defend its territory, and expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's leadership in securing a UN-brokered truce in Yemen," the White House said.
"They also discussed the importance of coordinating efforts to ensure global economic resilience."
It comes amid a two-month-long ceasefire in Yemen, which has seen years of war between the HouthisÌýrebels and Saudi-led coalition forces supportingÌýthe internationally recognised government.
The Houthis seized capital of Sanaa in 2014, with the coalition intervening the year after.
Both sidesÌýhave been accused of grave violations by human rights groups.
