Ukraine invasion: Two more ships depart from Black Sea ports
Two more ships left from Ukraine's ports on Saturday, Turkey's defence ministry said, bringing the total number of ships to depart the country under an deal to 16.
Barbados-flagged Fulmar S left Chornomorsk port, carrying 12,000 tonnes of corn to Turkey's southern Iskenderun province, it said.
The Marshall Island-flagged Thoe departed from the same port and headed to Turkey's Tekirdag, carrying 3,000 tonnes of sunflower seeds.
The statement added that another ship would depart from on Saturday to Ukraine to buy grains.
The UN and Turkey brokered a deal last month to allow for the resumption of grain exports from Ukraine, which were unended by Russia's invasion.Ìý
Before the war, Russia and UkraineÌýaccounted for nearly a third of with large amounts of product going to countries in the Middle East and North Africa.Ìý
However, the Feburary 24 invasion disrupted global supply chains, causing prices to soar and threatening to push thousands in food poverty.Ìý
