The Sudanese Civil Forces Association announced that it will be breaking away from anti-coup coalition, the , according to reports on Wednesday.

The association, which includes civil entities and organisations, said in a statement: "We strive with all our energy with the various resistance forces to bring down the , and this task requires greater independence and freedom of movement.

"We will definitely meet with [the Forces of Freedom and Change] in joint action, with whom we share the goal of overthrowing the coup and establishing civil rule."Ìý

The Freedom and Change Forces is a coalition that includes a wide range ofÌýcivilian and rebel groups, such as the Sudanese Revolutionary Front, the No To Oppression Against Women Initiative, and the Sudanese Resistance Committees.

The coalition was established in January 2019 during the 2018-2019 protests, which saw President Ìýremoved from power.

Sudanese pro-military protesters on Wednesday in Khartoum, calling for the expulsion of the United Nations Mission (UNITAMS).

UNITAMS responded to demands on Twitter, saying that its presence in the country is mandated by the UNÌýand that they support "freedom of speech" and "the right to assembly".

Sudan has been subjected toÌýdeadly crackdowns against protests calling for civilian rule since the 25 October military coup, led by General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
