Palestinian students protest Gaza massacre at Tel Aviv University
Palestinian students at Tel Aviv University have held a protest against the massacre of at least 61 protesters in Gaza - the bloodiest day in the besieged enclave since the 2014 war.
Scores of student protesters gathered at the university campus on Tuesday to commemorate Nakba Day, local news website Arab48 .
"In light of the cold-blooded killings of our people in Gaza, it is our duty as a student movement to unite," organiser Younis Taha told the outlet.
"We are one people with one collective pain. What we are doing is nothing compared to the great sacrifices made by our people in Gaza,"
"Protests must go on until Palestinian refugees have the right to return to their homeland," Taha added.
The protesters held up signs calling on Israeli authorities to "stop the massacre in Gaza".
The massacre has been widely condemned by the international community and human rights groups.
Fresh protests are expected to take place on Tuesday, a day after Israeli forces killed 61 Palestinians along the Gaza border and to mark Nakba Day.
Palestinians on Tuesday mark al-Nakba - or "the Catastrophe" - commemorating the more than 700,000 Palestinians who were expelled during the 1948 war surrounding Israel's creation, many to Gaza.
It comes a day after the US transferred its Israel embassy from Tel Aviv to the disputed city of Jerusalem in a move that infuriated the Palestinians and was widely condemned.
Over 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli military forces since the Great Return March protests began on 30 March.
No Israelis have been killed and only one soldier has been reported wounded during that time.
