A Palestinian man was shot dead on Monday during a march commemorating the anniversary of the death of former President Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian health ministry said.
Medical sources identified the man as 22-year-old Omar al-Badawi, who was hit in the chest with live fire during the 15th anniversary mach at the Al-Arroub refugee camp.
He was later taken to Ahali hospital in the nearby city of Hebron, where he was pronounced dead.
A video of Badawi's death shared widely on social media depicted the man collapsed on the ground, bleeding from the abdomen.
Soldiers are then seen firing bullets and throwing tear gas canisters as Palestinian civilians attempt to carry Badawi away.
Footage shared later on social media depicted hundreds of people attending the young man's funeral.
The Israeli army did not immediately comment on the incident, but medics also reported Israeli use of live fire during a march in Fawwar, south of Hebron.
Hamas, rulers of the besieged Gaza Strip, prohibited an event organised by rival faction Fatah to mark the death of Arafat in the coastal enclave.
