Palestinian doctor from Gaza killed by Russian airstrike in Ukraine
A Palestinian doctor from the coastal enclave was killed on Sunday by a airstrike inÌý, local sources said.Ìý
"Fadi Abu Shamallah, in his 40s, was killed byÌýa Russian Ìýwhile he was in his apartment in Ukraine," the sources, who were close to Abu Shamallah's family, saidÌýto °®Âþµº.ÌýÌý
The sources added that the Palestinian doctor was a volunteer in the army of the Luhansk RepublicÌýand it is believed that the Russian army deliberately killed him.Ìý
The Ramallah-based Palestinian Foreign MinistryÌýacknowledged that Abu Shamallah was in his apartment and had died from aÌýRussian strike, but have no further information.Ìý
According to the Palestinian foreign ministry, aroundÌý4,000 Palestinians live in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion six months ago, the ministry hasÌýevacuated up to 3,000 of them so far.ÌýÌý
