Moroccan police blocks nurses' march calling for employment rights
The march was spearheaded by the country’s National Nurses Coordination, which called for the protesters to meet in front of Rabat’s parliamentary building at 10 a.m. before heading to the ministry of health.
Police blocked the demonstrators when the protesters reached the city’s Bab-el Had square, the news agency reported.
The group of nurses want the law to be amended to remove the legislation that stops two-year degree holders to obtain promotions, according to the group’s statement.
The march had already been flagged as a problem by Rabat’s officials due to the Morocco’s coronavirus restrictions.
