Israeli forces detained 22 Palestinians on Saturday during ongoing raids on several cities in the occupied West Bank, local NGOs said.

Israeli forces carried out incursions in Hebron, Bethlehem, Tubas, Nablus, Jenin, and Jerusalem, among other cities in the West Bank, the Commission of Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a joint statement.

The latest arrests bring up the total number of Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces in the West Bank since 7 October to 6,115.

During the raids, Israeli forces damaged homes and infrastructure, the statement said, adding that they also confiscated money and vehicles.

The total number of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons by the end of 2023 was recorded as 8,800, with at least 80 women, according to prisoner affairs institutions.

Since 7 October, tensions were running high across the West Bank as Israel unleashed its deadly offensive on the Gaza Strip. These operations have included raiding homes, storming residential areas, and conducting arbitrary arrest campaigns against civilians.

At least 370 Palestinians were killed and nearly 4,200 others injured by Israeli raids in the West Bank.

In the Gaza Strip, at least 24,927 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, and 62,388 injured.
