Israeli forces have intensified their assault on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, an area where some 200,000 Palestinians have been besieged for over a week.
The army has ordered civilians to leave for the south of Gaza, however numerous reports have emerged of civilians being targeted by snipers and drones while attempting to flee.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) project coordinator Sarah Vuylsteke said on X that "nobody is allowed to get in or out".
Images posted to social media showed bodies strewn across streets of the camp, amid reports of massacres of civilians by Israeli strikes.
Early on Sunday, reporters and others trapped in the city shared 'final' messages on social media as Israeli tanks closed in.
"Enemy tanks are less than 700 meters away from us. The artillery is shelling us and the quad-copters are controlling the movement of people and firing at us," wrote journalist Hossam Shabat on X.
"We are literally living our last moments, O God, grant us a good end."
In Lebanon, Israel continued its airstrikes and attempted incursions into the country's south, where Hezbollah said it had clashed with Israeli forces.
In a statement on Saturday, the Lebanese Shia group said it had targeted an infantry force attempting to advance on the village of Ramyah, killing and injuring several soldiers.
