Israeli forces kill three Palestinians in West Bank, as settlers raid and torch homes
Israeli forces killed at least three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday amid intensified raids in the occupied territory, which comes after an attack that killed three Israelis on Monday.
At least two Palestinian men , south of Tubas, after Israeli fighter jets bombed the town, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent, while the army carried out an hours-long ground assault in the city.
Videos shared online showed from infantry forces on the rooftops appearing ready to shoot at potential targets.
Some local media outlets identified one victim as 18-year-old Suleiman Mustafa Qsheitat and the other victim named as Fawwaz Beni Awdeh, although his age was not yet provided.
Israeli forces raided the town after midnight on Monday, the Palestinian news agency Wafa said, deploying troops in several neighbourhoods and raiding homes.
The Red Crescent added that Israeli soldiers prevented medics and ambulances from reaching the scene, while at least one person was transferred to hospital after being critically wounded.
Additionally, the Israeli army killed another Palestinian early on Tuesday in the town of Wadi al-Badhan, northeast of Nablus.
Forces reportedly opened fire at Jaafar Ahmed Dababsheh, a former detainee, who was in front of his home at the time of the attack. The 40-year-old was seriously wounded as a result, before succumbing to his injuries.
Revenge attacks
Israeli forces have launched a manhunt in the occupied territory’s northern areas in response to Monday’s attack which killed three Israelis near the illegal settlement of Kedumim, located close to the village of Al-Funduq.
The army reportedly closed roads, blocked vehicles, and deployed its forces across checkpoints and towns in the northern West Bank.
Forces cordoned off several Palestinian villages in the area as well as roads leading into Nablus and its surroundings, according to °®Âþµºâ€™s Arabic-language site, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.
Many Palestinians have been stuck in the Nablus area and unable to return inside the Green Line due to Israel's security measures.
Israeli settlers have also resorted to a number of revenge attacks in an apparent retaliation for Monday's incident, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported.
Settlers attacked the villages of Fara'ata, Amatin, Hajjah, Turmus Aya, Kafr Qaddum and Al-Funduq, near where Monday's attack took place.
They also reportedly torched homes, agricultural rooms, vehicles, and other Palestinian-owned property.
Footage shared by activist Ihab Hassan on X showed .
"This is part of a planned pogrom sweeping across the West Bank, fuelled and backed by the Israeli government," he said.
Incessant bombing continues in Gaza
Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, at least 31 Palestinians have been killed in the past 24 hours, the health ministry said, as Israel’s war on the Palestinian territory continues to rage.
Early on Tuesday, six Palestinians were killed in strikes on two family homes in the Nuseirat and Al-Shati refugee camps, near Deir al-Balah and Gaza City.
Artillery shelling was also carried out in Khan Younis and Rafah, witnesses told the Turkish Anadolu agency.
Following a deadly attack on the Sheikh Radwan neighbourhood in northern Gaza in the early hours of Tuesday, surviving residents of the area are being forced to dig into the rubble to find potential survivors, as medical ambulances were unable to reach the site.
At least four people were killed, but locals fear that several more are still trapped under rubble.
The UN’s relief chief Tom Fletcher said humanitarian efforts are faced with "mounting obstacles" as Israeli forces continue to assault humanitarian workers and convoys in Gaza, in reference to an attack on a World Food Programme vehicle on Sunday, which injured three people.
Fletcher stressed that efforts to save the lives of survivors in Gaza are "at breaking point", due to a "dangerous pattern of sabotage and deliberate disruption," he said on Monday.
