Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers expected to meet in Iraq soon
The and are expected to meet in Iraq soon, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported on Tuesday.
"Iranian foreign minister and Saudi foreign minister Faisal bin Farhan will meet in Iraq in the near future," an Iranian member of parliament told Fars news agency.
He added the two would discuss bilateral issues such as the reopening of embassies and regional matters such as the
Predominantly Sunni Muslim and ShiaÌýIran are engaged in proxy conflicts across the Middle East, including the devasting seven-year war in Yemen.Ìý
Riyadh severed ties with Tehran in 2016 after Iranian protesters stormed the Saudi embassy in the Iranian capital following the execution of a ShiaÌýcleric inÌý.
Earlier this year, the Iran-aligned claimed they attacked key targets in Saudi Arabia, including two oil installations.Ìý
