English football clubs embrace Eid Al-Fitr with prayers and well wishes
English football clubs are wishing Muslim fans a blessed Eid, with players also getting involved in festivities.
Premier League champions Manchester City posted a graphic on social media showing players such as Riyad Mahrez, Erling Haaland and Leila Ouahabi getting into the Eid festivities.

French Muslim footballer and former Manchester United star Paul Pogba had his Juventus teammates Juan Cuadrado and Adrien Rabiot wish fans Eid Mubarak in a video.

West London club Fulham also wished their fans a Happy Eid, after neighbours Chelsea also hosted Muslim supporters for a special iftar.

Championship side Watford also shared a celebratory message.

Wirral side Tranmere Rovers opened their gates at Prenton Park to local Muslims for Eid.

Even the football association of the Oceania island state Fiji, home to a small Muslim population, wished Muslims a happy Eid.

Last Eid, Blackburn Rovers - one of the founding members of the English Football League - opened Ewood Park to Muslim fans, giving them the chance to pray on the pitch for the first time.
This year, the East Lancashire side hosted the first-ever iftar at a football club in the UK on a matchday.
The club in Blackburn, a town with a large Muslim population, also celebrated Eid with a message to fans.
"Eid-ul-Fitr Mubarak to those following countries where the new crescent moon has been sighted. Hope you have a lovely Eid tomorrow from everyone at Blackburn Rovers Football Club," it tweeted.
