Five dead in Syria's Daraa in latest assassinations
Suspected assassinations and violenceÌýin Syria's restlessÌýÌýleft five dead on Saturday, as security concerns in the region grow,Ìý°®Âþµº's sister publicationÌýAl-Araby Al-Jadeed reported.
Unknown andÌýmembers of the 'sÌýmilitary security forces are suspected of beingÌýbehind the killings, which come aÌýweek after the regime announced the completion of its security settlement procedure inÌýDaraa province, a local media activist told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.Ìý
Local sources claimed the regimeÌýis not interested in establishing security in the province, blamingÌý dealers for the violence,ÌýÌýwith over 41 assassination attempts and 28 deaths reported in the region sinceÌý6 September, according to Daraa's Martyrs Documentation office.
"The [regime's] inspection [and security settlement]Ìýoperations wereÌýaimed at collecting money and did not really aim to control the security situation," Youssef Al-Musleh,Ìýa media activist in Daraa, told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.Ìý

Unknown snipers killed a former regime security figure in Al-Shajara, West Daraa,Ìýand another member of the security forces inÌýAl-Naima,ÌýEast Daraa on Saturday,ÌýAbu Mohammed Al-Hourani, a local media activistÌýtold Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.
When the regime re-took Daraa from the opposition theyÌýdemanded residents hand over all weaponsÌýor pay a sum of money for each suspected rifleÌýnot handed in. Activists have such weapons did not exist and was a way of regime forces extracting money from the local population.
