British band Coldplay will perform at the on 15 February, the group announced on Wednesday.

The 'Paradise' will play at the expo'sÌýInfinite Nights to support itsÌýProgramme for People and PlanetÌýas theyÌý their new album 'Music Of The Spheres' in the region.

Ahead of their appearance at the event, which has aÌýsub-theme of sustainability, the band pledged to make their upcoming tour "as sustainable... asÌýpossible" pledging to cut their direct emissions by 50 percentÌýcompared to their 2016 tour.

The concert will take place at Al-Wasl Dome -Ìýlocated at the heart of the world fair - which fans can attend for freeÌýif theyÌýsecure tickets fromÌý12 February. The concert will also be broadcasted live onÌýthe Dubai Expo's YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The Infinite Nights shows are a series of performances delivered by global and Arab superstars at the exposition. Previous performers include Lebanese sensationsÌý ²¹²Ô»åÌý, and American singersÌýAlicia Keys and the Black Eyed Peas.

Other performers and artists have declined invites to perform at the expoÌýover human rights concerns.

This includes Palestinian singerÌýÌýover the UAE'sÌýties with Israel ²¹²Ô»åÌý"persistence inÌýignoring the feelings and rights of the Palestinian people".

The expoÌýhas also recently stirredÌýup controversy as said that the legions of workers involvedÌýface exploitation, grim conditions, and a wide range of abuses.
