British man who wants 'all Muslims to die' accused of planning terrorist acts in Aberdeen

A man who allegedly claimed "all must die" has gone on trial in accused of plotting terrorist acts.

Prosecutors in Glasgow say that Richard Smith, 28, engaged in conduct "with the intention of carrying out acts of terrorism" between August 2018 and November 2019.

Smith is also accused of possessing and making explosive substances, as well as holding material which advanced "anti-Muslim, Neo-Nazi and other racist causes".

In a separate charge, Smith is also accused of having several electronic devices and discs linked to terrorism, including material on the "practice of guerrilla warfare and paramilitary survival".

He is also said to have sent a message to a family member saying that "all Muslims must die", as well as violent and Nazi-related images to another individual.

The charges levelled against Smith fall under the Terrorism Act 2000 of and 2006, as well as the Explosive Substances Act and the Poisons Act.

Smith, who joined the hearing via video link, pled not guilty through his lawyer.

The trial has been adjourned the until March.
