will increase deliveries to Italy this year to 25.2 billion cubic metres from 20.9 billion cubic metres in 2021, Algerian state-owned firm  CEO Tewfik Hakkar said on Wednesday.

Gas exports have so far reached 17.8 billion cubic metres, a rise of 17 percent, Hakkar told news agency Bloomberg.

Hakkar's remarks were aimed at ending rumours that Algeria is facing difficulties fulfilling its contract with Italy, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.

The key message is "don't worry Italy, Algeria will supply the agreed volumes," said the source, who asked not to be named.
