A correspondent for The��New Arab's Arabic-language sister channel��Al Araby TV��was injured by an Israeli strike on Wednesday while reporting live on air.

Islam Bader was wounded in a strike that hit near northern Gaza's Jabalia refugee camp, killing and injuring dozens of Palestinians.

The attack occurred as Bader was reporting live for��. He continued reporting despite receiving clear injuries, which included one on his neck and the back of his head.

Bader, along with at least three other journalists, were wearing their press vests during the attack.

"Only moments ago, this road was filled with people just as a strike hit one of the buildings here. We were also wounded as we were walking on this road," he said.

"I have suffered some injuries, but I will continue to document this massacre as much as I can and I will then go to the hospital," he added.

At least one other journalist was injured in the attack, according to the footage, which showed people rushing to search the rubble for survivors.

Bader posted on X that after he had gone to the nearest medical centre to receive treatment to his injuries, the centre was evacuated due to intense bombing nearby.��

"I had to leave on foot without being able to get the surgery I needed," he said in a post.

Israel's relentless bombardment on Gaza and its attacks on southern Lebanon have killed at least 75 journalists and wounded at least 80 others, according to��the Palestine Journalists Syndicate.

Earlier this month, Israeli forces detained��journalist Diaa Al-Kahlout, a correspondent for��Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, along with his brothers, relatives, and other civilians in Beit Lahia northern Gaza.

The indiscriminate war on Gaza has killed over 20,000 Palestinians since 7 October - the majority being women and children.
