Day 16 of Israel's war on Gaza. The death toll in Gaza from Israeli has sored to ove5 4600, almost 2000 of which are children. A second convoy of lifesaving aid from Egypt was able to enter the besieged strip, but still no fuel or food supplies.

The death toll in Gaza has risen to 4,651, according to the health ministry, with 1,873 children among the fatalities  This comes Israel announced it was 'stepping up' its bombardment of the besieged Palestinian enclave. In the last 24 hours, 266 Palestinians have been killed, of which 117 were children.

For the second consecutive day, aid has been able to enter Gaza from Egypt, with 17 trucks making their way into the territory. However, while the aid will help some, UNRWA have said that it is still nowhere near enough, with Israel continuing to stop fuel and food supplies.

Without fuel, water facilities and hospitals cannot function. UNRWA, which is the official UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said it will run out of fuel in 3 days, which lead to an unprecedented shutdown of its services.

Israel has massed tens of thousands of troops around Gaza for a widely predicted ground invasion. It claims its daily raids have already killed many Hamas leaders and military commanders.

"From today, we are increasing the strikes and minimising the danger," an Israeli military spokesman said late Saturday. "We will increase the attacks and therefore I called on Gaza City residents to continue moving south for their safety."

Israel has repeatedly urged the 1.1 million people in the north of Gaza to move south ahead of any ground operation. According to leaflets and phone calls made by Israel to Gaza residents, if they do not leave North Gaza they will be treated as "terrorists" and "collaborators" and will "face the consequences".

However, there are still hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians in northern Gaza, while Israel continues to bombard the south, including Rafah.
