After almost 15 months of Israeli onslaught, the Gaza Education Ministry announced a new school year has begun in the Gaza Strip.

"My children constantly ask me about school and toys, and all I can do is lie to them, telling them they will come back one day."

"We had dreamed of this day for so long. We prepared everything for Khaled's return, but the [Israeli] occupation broke our hearts again," Bushra said. 

A Fatah fighter noted to TNA, "Political differences disappear in war. Our mission is clear: to defend our people and resist the occupation."

"Rebuilding Gaza is important, but peace is what we really need. We have been through so many wars. We need to know that this time, things will be different."

Abdul Latif al-Qanoua, Hamas's spokesperson, said that Hamas does not oppose the establishment of a committee to oversee Gaza’s administration. 

Prices of vegetables increased by up to 30 percent, while the cost of some imported goods soared up by more than 40 percent. 

While the precarious situation unfolds, Gaza's people find themselves once again at the mercy of geopolitical forces beyond their control.
